Thomas L. Chelf, of New Buffalo, died on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte, IN. No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New buffalo, MI.
Thomas was born on December 26, 1937. He was a retired Water Treatment Manager at US Steel, Gary, IN; former owner of ServiStar Hardware in New Buffalo, MI; former school board member and President of North Newton School Corporation, Morocco, IN.
Tom is survived by his wife LaCrecia; children, Vince (Staci), Kim Shutske, Tim (Sheila), Vikki Hensley, Chylene (Marvin) Kampenga; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; sister, Sharon (Ed) Raab, two nieces and three nephews.
