Frank Holecek, 85, of New Buffalo, died in his home after a brief illness, on Monday, November 7, 2011. Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel of New Buffalo.
Frank was born March 21, 1926 in Czkney, Czechoslovakia, to Frantisek and Ruzena Holecek. On January 19, 1950 in Augsburg, Germany he married Maria Zelcius. Maria preceded him in death on January 16, 2006.
Frank is survived by his three children, Andrew Holecek of Denver, CO, Frank (Joy) Holecek of Novi, MI, and Rose Mary Holecek of New Buffalo, MI; three grandchildren, Derek Holecek, Frankie Holecek and Vanessa (Christopher) Thun; and two great grandchildren, Taylor and Lucas. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a sister.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 12, 1:30pm, at Water's Edge Methodist Church in New Buffalo, with Rev. Brad Bartelmay officiating. The family will receive visitors at Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo, two hours prior to the service – from 11:00am-1:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
